I feel as if, I left a part of me,
In the wide chasms of the Grand Canyon.
The taste of sand in between my teeth,
Free as a stallion, with trusted companions.
Great arches, skeletal cage of red dust.
They ask if I may be thinking of this,
The ill fated answer is that I must,
This planet of solitary freeway bliss.
I feel as if, I left a part of me,
with my mother on vivid sunset’s ledge,
two overlooking the vast desert sea,
Cicadas singing mother nature’s pledge.
Birth of a new snakes skin, I did cry out;
As ever is on the old I-10 route.
